Things to Do Our guests love to hike, bike, and ski right from our front door! Diversions are many in central Vermont. Start with the 22,000 acres of Green Mountain National Forest right out the front door, and go from there! Brandon village bustles with artists, artisans, antiques, and a wonderful independent bookstore. The countryside surrounding is beautiful farmland dotted with Revolutionary War battlefields and other historic sites; picturesque covered bridges; apple orchards, sugar shacks, and hayricks. Venture less than 20 miles from the inn and find Middlebury College and all its cultural events; gorgeous Lake Champlain; and revitalized downtown Rutland.
